Our Changing Journey: A Tail of Hope

After 30 years of holding our three buildings together with a lot of duct tape and love, plus a couple of paperclips, we broke ground on our brand new facility in June 2025.  This is an incredible milestone that represents the future of our mission, our reach, and our impact. And with that future in mind, we have another big change coming in 2026.

For over 37 years, we have proudly served our community as the Central Texas Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals d/b/a Central Texas SPCA.  We were the very first no-kill animal rescue in Williamson County.  That name has carried our work and our passion through decades of rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption. But as we step into this next chapter, we felt it was time for a name that better reflects who we are today -- and where we are going.

We are thrilled to announce that we are officially changing our name to the Central Texas Tails of Hope.

To accompany this name, which we feel embodies the mission of our organization, we will have an equally impactful tag line “Rescue. Love. Repeat.”  Our new branding of Central Texas Tails of Hope (Rescue. Love. Repeat.) will become official with the opening of the new facility, sometime in the latter half of 2026.

This new name is filled with meaning.  It celebrates the heart of what we do — giving animals not just safety and love, but a second chance.  A new beginning.  A hopeful future.  A tail of hope.

This change is more than symbolic.  As our physical space transforms over the next year, so does the way we tell our story to the world.

We appreciate the multitude of volunteers, staff, and supporters who have been part of our amazing journey over the years to get us to where we are today.  As we continue to grow and expand our services, we are excited to begin this new path forward into the future with our community and we welcome the opportunity to introduce our unique way of rescuing, loving, and repeating our mission to help cats and dogs to even more volunteers and supporters in the years to come.

We are deeply proud of the legacy of the Central Texas SPCA and eagerly await what’s ahead as the Central Texas Tails of Hope.

Thank you for being part of our journey.  The best is yet to come!
