Arwen has an outstanding personality, is super sweet, and of moderate to high energy level. She had some training before coming to our adoption center as she sits when she walks up to you. She's incredibly intelligent and responds well to gentle redirection and positive reinforcement. She knows sit, down, and shake. She loves a good game of fetch but is also happy being a couch potato and getting all the loves. Arwen is a water dog, she would love to be with an active family who will take her hiking, swimming, or camping!

She can be selective about her dog friends in new situations. Because of this she must go to a home with no other dogs. People; however, top her list of things to love! She is an affectionate dog that loves petting and napping with her head in your lap. She is very clever and will test her people so keeping her mind and body active will keep her a happy dog! She would likely enjoy agility or nose work but a good walk every day would be just fine.

Arwen has been at the Adoption Center for almost 1 year, due to her size and the fact that she must go to a home without other dogs. However, this does not mean Arwen isn't going to make a wonderful pet for the right person, she is looking for a single animal home where she can be the apple of her people's eye.

If you would like to meet Arwen, please visit us at Central Texas SPCA during our open-to-the-public hours. A staff member will be happy to assist you and answer any further questions you may have.

Every dog adopted from the Central Texas SPCA will have been tested for heartworms, spayed or neutered, microchipped and given all age-appropriate vaccines before they go home. All dogs are kept current on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. The cost for these pre-adoption services makes up a significant part of our annual budget despite our using low-cost options and seeking veterinary discounts whenever possible.
