More Junior Youth Volunteer Information
- All of our Junior Youth Volunteers who work directly with our animals require a one-to-one parent / volunteer ratio, with one parent per child. This means, if your child would like to volunteer and work with our pets, his/her parent must accompany them and actively participate in our volunteer program. Parent participation is key to this program with each parent acting as the primary volunteer of the team.
- Schedules are sent via email to all volunteers at the beginning of the month detailing the availability of animal related youth opportunities either at the shelter or at off-site adoptions and events.
- We encourage parent/child teams to make a commitment of at least two hours of volunteer service per month. This helps maintain consistent and familiar care of the animals.
- Volunteer orientation attendance is required before beginning volunteer service.
