In our January session, the topic for discussion was what dogs need to be kept healthy and happy at home. The kids were assigned different items from dog bowls to Invisible Fencing and searched the Internet for prices. They also learned about the yearly expenses for regular vet appointments and vaccinations, as well as unexpected expenses like boarding fees when they travel away from home without their pets. From there, they learned how to operate Microsoft Excel spreadsheets in order to determine how much they would spend on a pet during the year for each item and service and the final yearly total. Our storytime session was with Are You Ready For Me by Claire Buchwald and Amelia Hansen. They were also introduced to Toby, a spunky Pug/Chihuahua mix with a serious underbite! Toby is still hoping for his forever family!

Today I met Toby the dog. He was very nice. He is loving and likes to give kisses to people. He is slender and small with long legs. The color of his fur is black and he has a slight underbite. Families with children will like this energetic pug/terrier. Since he has so much energy, he will need space to run around and someone to walk him often.
